I think we are finally getting some good weather! Finally…where we can really start planning!
Planning? Those summer parties where we can get together with family and friends!
How about starting off having small parties, the first being an intimate party of 12 to 14 people! It’s less stressful and you can do a lot of preparing ahead of time, making it a little easier on yourself! You’re the host; you are supposed to have a good time!
Your table setting can have a theme and the matching items can be found right from the house!
Like the leftover mason jars from your strawberry preserve project, they can be used as vases for flowers you’ve picked from your garden or even bundles of flowers brought from your local grocery store! Like two beautiful damask curtain panels for your tablecloth or even a runner made of brown paper with a scrolled detail added by using an ink stamp!
Even the place settings from your own dishes (they can even be mismatched) and silverware from your home, with cloth napkins made from three old shirts you no longer could fit; but just hated to give away!
Even old fruit glasses filled with farm cherries to add; where your guests feel free to nibble at each and every conversation while enjoying the LA sun!
If you can guess, one of my dear friends did just that and I thought I would share! It was so beautiful and anyone could do this; it’s not as hard as you think! You can be creative and do different things, making it really special.
So when planing, first look around in your home before buying anything new! Put them all together and have your checklist ready, to go around a second time in the house to see if you can add some items!
And please, please remember….EVERYTHING DOES NOT HAVE TO MATCH!
