The Awesome DKNY Aliza Licht – Aliza Licht’s Brilliant Guide “Leave Your Mark”!

21 Jun

IMG_2811While visiting my brother in Indiana, I’d finished the next book on my summer book list!

You ever wanted to know what is the best way to land a job?  How about making an assessment of your co-workers and your work environment?

How about not to pat yourself on the back too soon, you have to wait in line for that promotion.  There’s proper etiquette when sending an e-mail!  Or, how do you know when it is time to move on?

All can be found in candid stories and inspirational experiences in this delightful book called Leave Your Mark – Land Your Dream Job.  Kill It in Your Career.  Rock Social Media; written by the beautiful Aliza Licht, SVP of Global Communications for Fashion’s international designer powerhouse – Donna Karan.

You don’t have to be in the Fashion industry; this book can be useful in any field or genre – when it comes to job hunting, being resourceful and working hard is the common denominator.   I’d found myself laughing out loud on how Aliza Licht’s mistakes kind of matched my own job mistakes.  Where I too just wanted to show that I was so resourceful and the pressure was on – only ending up wanting to hide under a rock when I got it all wrong!

Aliza Licht shares her choice of making a hard decision to leave the field that did not make her happy to work in a field that she absolutely and completely loves.  Although the decision involved a lot of soul-searching; her story allows the reader to relate and take a moment to ask the same question!  Reading the book, you will love how she tells the inside scoop on how she captured a 500k Twitter following brilliantly orchestrated for thee @DKNY PR Girl.  Just genius!

She also shares the importance of social media and how/what you post impacts your brand, with warnings on why it should be used responsibly.  No one ever wants to hear that you failed, however Aliza Licht reassures the reader how those failures are so critical in the learning process and can be used in the future to make important decisions correctly.

“In any industry, how you are perceived weighs heavily on your ability to succeed.  If clients don’t like to work with you, you’re not going to get that promotion! Your reputation always precedes you; but the company you work for also contributes to that reputation.  The companies listed on your resume are like badges.  People judge you not only for your skills, but also where you have worked.”

I had the pleasure of meeting Aliza Licht a few months ago at an inspiring luncheon in Manhattan hosted by Lyss Stern, Mom Moguls Breakfast 2015.  Aliza’s book was about to be launched later that evening and here she was just as gracious in sharing about her personal life on being a mother first, work and launching her book.  She was amazing!!

I don’t want to give too much away about the book!  Please add Leave Your Mark by Aliza Licht to your summer read; you won’t be disappointed at all.  It can also be a nice gift to a person who would needs guidance in today’s job hunting.  And I might add, it’s the #1 New Release by Amazon.com! 🙂

Anjolee™! Customize Beautiful Jewelry at Ease!

20 Jun

Anjolee

I have always been amazed about how a jewelry selection occurs.  When looking to buy; you want to be a little knowledgeable; but somehow you always feel intimidated when trying to buy a gift and often left second guessing yourself.

It can be a bit overwhelming when it comes down to knowing your gemstones, white gold, yellow gold, clarity, diamonds…etc.  A buyer wants the experience to be joyous and happy; thinking of that special person you have in mind or for yourself!

This is one of the reasons why I am so impressed with Anjolee™!  Where can I start?  Anjolee™ The Art of Jewelry has a website that allows the buyer to customize jewelry without any intimidation.   Just imagine going into a jeweler and looking without any hassle or pressure! That rarely happens these days.  With technology today it can be done right at home; virtually and seamlessly with Anjolee™!

Curious about the name? Anjolee’s name brand was born when the two founding brothers combined their mother’s angelic nature and her passion for beautiful jewelry.  They used the word “Angel” in the beginning of the word and their mother’s first name “Lee” at the end.  By altering the French word “Jolie” to “Jolee”, they were able to incorporate their mother’s name. The combination produced the name and brand adored today known as Anjolee.

Let’s say if you’re looking for a gemstone bracelet and wanted options in the metal type, gold vs. white, 10K, 14K, 18k.  Sometimes the options are not provided or perhaps you’re not aware of the various differences.  The Anjolee website has the options to make a custom design with ease.

On their website, I was able to use all the tools provided to customize a gemstone bracelet.  I particularly liked the Wavy X Oval Stone bracelet.  With the image, I was able to switch between the metal types, do a 360 degree rotation and even look at the image in HD!

Anjolee™ Wavy X Oval Stone Bracelet

By having the options at my fingertips, chose 14K white gold and was ecstatic about the number of options for the bracelet length.

Usually the standard length is 7.5 inches, however it was nice to see that I could customize it freely.

Finally after reviewing the gemstone options, I chose the gemstone Peridot ( a little history, the Peridot was believed to be a stone of springtime by ancients who considered it a gift from Mother Nature. Napoleon once made a gift of Peridot to Josephine as a symbol of undying love and admiration).

My next choice, the diamond eternity ring!

The 360 degree rotation visuals of the ring, the description of how many stones that would be detailed based on ring size was key and the Anjolee™ Diamond Standards really made a difference in the decision-making.  Throughout the selection process, a specification sheet is shown and HD images that can be downloaded at any time – which is so great when you want to compare jewelry items.  Here I was with my favorite glass of Chardonnay, music in the background and spending time with ease….designing. There are also YouTube Anjolee™ videos available for many of their jewelry selections to help.

So you have customization at your fingertips; with customer reviews to read and a question link readily available!  Customer Service is always available to help – e-mail, Live Chat and a toll-free number.   Anjolee™ even has their very own iPhone & iPad app that allows you to create and customize your very own piece of jewelry that way too!

There are educational links to help in knowing about diamonds, buying and even a glossary of terms. By placing a phone call  – they are happy to help in discussing warranties and other processing for your selection; plus available delivery options.

Pictured below is the eternity ring!  It’s absolutely beautiful!    So for those who are shopping for engagement rings, wedding bands, earrings and much more; Anjolee™ is absolutely an excellent choice!
