Votre Dans Mes Prieres Paris

13 Nov

When you hurt, we hurt!  I’m so heartbroken! Love to all Parisians at this time!

“Faced with terror, France has to be strong, she has to be grand. We also need to call everyone to be responsible. If these terrorists want to make us afraid, to fill us with fear. But while we are facing fear we are a nation that knows how to defend itself. We have not finished these operations. At this very moment the special forces have launched their attack on a place in Paris”.

Fred Segal and Lenny Kravitz Together!

27 Nov

There are so many multifaceted things that Lenny Kravitz does, father, musical artist, actor, composer/songwriter, philanthropist, fashion designer; as well as an interior designer! So this announcement comes as no surprise! Keep reinventing yourself to be and do the things that make you happy!

California retailer Fred Segal has just announced recently that it will launch its first designer collaboration with Kravitz Design next year! First! Named Fred Segal x Kravitz Design, the collection will be designed by Kravitz Design as envisioned by Lenny Kravitz and will include accessories (starting at $100 USD), garments and a $100,000 USD limited-edition motorcycle.

Kravitz launched a creative firm, Kravitz Design Inc., which provides commercial and residential design services as well as specializes in product development and branding. Kravitz Design touts a portfolio of noteworthy ventures, with a range that includes chandeliers for Swarovski Crystal Palace Collection, suites at the SLS Hotel Miami Beach and a two story penthouse recording studio at the Setai Hotel and Residences.

Most recently Kravitz Design Inc. has undertaken the creative vision for the downtown Miami 47-story bay front condominium project, Paramount Bay as well as a collection of ceramic tiles for Lea Ceramiche called Goccia and the re-interpertaion of the Mademoiselle chair for Kartell.  This is my favorite photo of his Parisian creation:

Paris! On My Mind! Shopping!

9 May

20130507-222440.jpg

Bonjour! Paris! It’s that time again for me! This time I’m thinking of a strategy to stay really focused! Its so hard! I just received my e-mails about some bargains! What are you talking about! My two spots!

The Saint Pierre Fabric Market is the place to go if you’re on the lookout for discount fabrics and specialty stores. The streets just below the Sacre Coeur Basilica in Montmartre have been famous for discount fabrics for ages. Get off at Anvers métro and head for Rue d’Orsel and the square where you’ll find a big Dreyfus store and the red-awning Reines store. The fabric stores are slowly disappearing and being replaced by souvenir shops, but you can still find some beautiful silks and cottons … and even have curtains made up to bring home the same day!

Location: Place Saint-Pierre and Rue Livingston, 18th arrondissement
Métro: Anvers (Line 2), Barbès-Rochechouart (Line 2, 4)
Hours: Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm

Catherine Max is another Paris discount store that you should never be missed! One of the largest designer clearance stores in Paris, Catherine Max is also located in the 16th arrondissement, a short walk from the Trocadéro. Top designers call her when they need to clear out extra merchandise, and every Parisian fashionista knows this is the email invitation to receive. This gigantic 12,000 square foot store is an outlet for fashion designers, jewelers, perfumers and high-end home accessories.

You’ll find clothing and accessories for men, women and children. The store keeps merchandise fresh, and they feature a new designer clearance sale every few weeks. Discounts are up to an amazing 80% off! A unique aspect to the store and website is that it features emerging designers and looks that are just hitting the Paris fashion scene. Here you’ll find new names and unique designs daily.

The big sales mean huge crowds of Parisians looking for a bargain. They come back regularly because merchandise turns over rapidly. You must be a member to shop here, for a reasonable price of Euros 20 per year, and you’ll receive the sale announcements by email. Alternatively, sign up at the front desk and start shopping.

Address: 17 Avenue Raymond Poincaré, 16th arrondissement
Métro: Trocadéro (Line 6, 9), Victor Hugo (Line 2)

So I’m going to check my calendar and find out how the airfares are! Perhaps come up with a plan.  This usually means using FaceTime and a lot of I.O.Us!

Now that’s my Parisian moment….so let me have it!
