Here in the United States, we are getting ready to celebrate a big traditional holiday called Thanksgiving!

Although the day has many special meanings, the one thing that is in common is to spend time with family and friends.

Whether you are eating the food that you love most, giving time to the not so fortunate, sending e-cards to our servicemen or perhaps enjoying sports, like a football game – it’s just wonderful to take the time off to be thankful and enjoy!

I too am very thankful and extending you my best wishes for a healthy and Happy Thanksgiving!

Yes, you can do the Black Friday shopping sales and the football game tonight is going to be great! Here’s a day we spend with family and friends, all the traditions set in place.

I LOVE this day! Here I am this morning walking Manolo and the smell of cooking is in the air from the houses with their doors cracked open!

The Macy’s Thanksgiving parade is going to start in a few hours and I will be serving dinners around 2 pm today!

The tone is set, I have a feel good attitude…. all with the anticipation of knowing my belly will filled later on! 🙂

Wishing everyone a wonderful Happy Thanksgiving!

Hurricane Sandy – Small Acts of Kindness

11 Nov

Hurricane Sandy and the NorthEasterner storm has come and gone! Leaving such devastation and so, so many people in despair, trying to overcome the shock of their lives changed!

The disaster also shows the resiliency of people and how the little things that matter! There are so many acts of kindness being displayed! When at the time of need, there are people who do care!

Here is just one wonderful act, that I had to share! Hurricane Sandy with its destruction had torn up over 100,000 homes, people’s belongings unrecoverable! However this one young lady noticed photos and belongings near her home; where she decided to hold on them and display them in her yard!

Amanda Casella, a 17-year-old high school senior from Tottenville, found hundreds of photos strewn throughout the woods in her neighborhood and said she wants to get them back to whoever they belong to.

If by chance, just a mere hope that she could return a little happiness…anyone could have one of their memories back….it’s just such a great thing that she wanted to do! 🙂

Kudos to you AMANDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I plan to help out too, with Thanksgiving being here in a few weeks, the families are going to need to have a hot meal, food goods and some encouraging hope to hang in there for the recovery months ahead. People do care and don’t think you have to do something big, it’s the small things too!
