Fred Segal and Lenny Kravitz Together!

27 Nov

There are so many multifaceted things that Lenny Kravitz does, father, musical artist, actor, composer/songwriter, philanthropist, fashion designer; as well as an interior designer! So this announcement comes as no surprise! Keep reinventing yourself to be and do the things that make you happy!

California retailer Fred Segal has just announced recently that it will launch its first designer collaboration with Kravitz Design next year! First! Named Fred Segal x Kravitz Design, the collection will be designed by Kravitz Design as envisioned by Lenny Kravitz and will include accessories (starting at $100 USD), garments and a $100,000 USD limited-edition motorcycle.

Kravitz launched a creative firm, Kravitz Design Inc., which provides commercial and residential design services as well as specializes in product development and branding. Kravitz Design touts a portfolio of noteworthy ventures, with a range that includes chandeliers for Swarovski Crystal Palace Collection, suites at the SLS Hotel Miami Beach and a two story penthouse recording studio at the Setai Hotel and Residences.

Most recently Kravitz Design Inc. has undertaken the creative vision for the downtown Miami 47-story bay front condominium project, Paramount Bay as well as a collection of ceramic tiles for Lea Ceramiche called Goccia and the re-interpertaion of the Mademoiselle chair for Kartell.  This is my favorite photo of his Parisian creation:

Here in the United States, we are getting ready to celebrate a big traditional holiday called Thanksgiving!

Although the day has many special meanings, the one thing that is in common is to spend time with family and friends.

Whether you are eating the food that you love most, giving time to the not so fortunate, sending e-cards to our servicemen or perhaps enjoying sports, like a football game – it’s just wonderful to take the time off to be thankful and enjoy!

I too am very thankful and extending you my best wishes for a healthy and Happy Thanksgiving!

Giambattista Valli….beautiful detail!

23 Nov

The definition of detail is the complexity or simply presence of a surface texture, work of art. This defines the Giambattista Valli showroom. Absolutely beautiful, reminds me of the glamorous times of the 40’s and 50’s.

Italian designer Giambattista Valli debuted his line in 2005, and his breathtaking designs almost immediately inspired a passionate following. His flair for expertly combining clean lines with feminine touches has placed his designs on countless red carpets and fashion magazine photo shoots.

The Perfect Pint! One of the Thee Best Irish Pubs in NYC!!!

8 Nov

Foodie Alert!!!!!!!  Beer Lovers Alert!!!!!!

Hanging in the city…after a very important business meeting in Manhattan, it was asked,”How about a beer? It’s mid-afternoon and you look like you need to relax!”

I didn’t think it showed, but I was so nervous and quickly said..Why not!  So walking fast (33 degrees outside), heading towards the East side I quickly found myself right in front of the The Perfect Pint East, located at 203 East 45th Street (between 2nd and 3rd Ave)!

The atmosphere was lively, the staff was great and most of all the ale was terrific!  Get this! I had a Goose Island I.P.A. ~ A highly hopped ale, really nice tasting and surprisingly fruity! The first time I actually tasted it…then all of a sudden, I had two!

What did I eat with it? I went with a traditional burger… you can never go wrong with a burger!

It was an excellent; cooked to perfection and I shared…it was humongous!

Operation RELAX accomplished!

The Perfect Pint also has a roof top for more entertaining, where at night the city’s lights would be such a great backdrop!

And, there are two convenient locations one on the West side and the other on the East side! Cool marketing!

So if you are ever in the theatre district and want a great choice of beer varieties; plus great food with a cool atmosphere!

I highly recommend the The Perfect Pint!

Make sure you call or go on-line to book a table!  We were lucky to get in, for it was crowded!  I will be back very soon!

Michael Agnew, Beer writer, Certified Cicerone® and is the owner of The Perfect Pint and believes there is a beer for everyone; just have to try it!.  If you are interested to know more about the restaurant and menu items – log on to http://www.perfectpintnyc.com and also check out his blog – which of course is named A Perfect Pint! http://www.aperfectpint.net

Are you Missing China Pieces, Stemware or Silverware for Your Holiday Place Setting?

6 Nov

As we are approaching the holidays, we begin thinking about all the prep work needed for our upcoming gatherings and dinners!  This is where in the back of your mind, you say I’m still missing a place setting, a plate or some item that you wish you had!  It may not be noticeable to others at your table, but you know!

Sometimes it’s really not that important, but for some of us it does matter.  Where we may go out and buy new dinnerware because of it! A few years back, in transit of my late mother’s beautiful China, a plate and two tea cups were damaged.

Like many of you, I too had guests over and it was asked if I had tea – I would always say no….but I have coffee!  For I have an abundance of coffee mugs! <smile> Now, if it was just a plain old day, the coffee mug could be used but when you invite people over; its something about the proper way….its important! A few years ago, I did replace the missing pieces and I just remembered that I must share this information with my readers.  Replacements LTD; they specialized in China, crystal and silverware.

What you would do is determine the pattern of your pieces and give Replacements LTD a call.  They can see if they have the pattern and provide an inventory list with prices. If they don’t have your item, you can be also placed on their contact list, as their inventory is replenished – they can tell you when a pattern is available or that specific item.

I’m currently on their list for three Waterford Bar glasses.  I just recently received an e-mail for other items in the Waterford Giselle collection, the bar glasses were not listed! But I’m hopeful!!!  Replacements LTD is located in lovely Greensboro, NC and the staff is very helpful:  Their website is http://www.replacements.com.

I hope this information was helpful!
