Fred Segal and Lenny Kravitz Together!

27 Nov

There are so many multifaceted things that Lenny Kravitz does, father, musical artist, actor, composer/songwriter, philanthropist, fashion designer; as well as an interior designer! So this announcement comes as no surprise! Keep reinventing yourself to be and do the things that make you happy!

California retailer Fred Segal has just announced recently that it will launch its first designer collaboration with Kravitz Design next year! First! Named Fred Segal x Kravitz Design, the collection will be designed by Kravitz Design as envisioned by Lenny Kravitz and will include accessories (starting at $100 USD), garments and a $100,000 USD limited-edition motorcycle.

Kravitz launched a creative firm, Kravitz Design Inc., which provides commercial and residential design services as well as specializes in product development and branding. Kravitz Design touts a portfolio of noteworthy ventures, with a range that includes chandeliers for Swarovski Crystal Palace Collection, suites at the SLS Hotel Miami Beach and a two story penthouse recording studio at the Setai Hotel and Residences.

Most recently Kravitz Design Inc. has undertaken the creative vision for the downtown Miami 47-story bay front condominium project, Paramount Bay as well as a collection of ceramic tiles for Lea Ceramiche called Goccia and the re-interpertaion of the Mademoiselle chair for Kartell.  This is my favorite photo of his Parisian creation:

CityBlis be Unique! Celebrating all Things That Inspire!

28 Jun

Fashion, Designs, Textiles, oh MY!   I am so happy to announce my new-found alliance with CityBlis!

There are so many talented designers that you and I have never met!  This is where City Blis comes in!  They have given me the wonderful opportunity to be in on their vision and dedication to a designer’s work; to share with YOU!

CityBlis has invited me to report on these designers and the CityBlis project itself.  CityBlis knows that I am always looking for new designers, new products and new stories to talk about!!!  It’s a wonderful platform to be part of; which helps the designer both locally and internationally.  It helps the consumer too, to also be introduced and become acquainted with a designer based on their own livelihood and bizazzle!

“At Cityblis we celebrate all of these things and bring to life all the people that share their stories with you so that you may be inspired every day.”

So from time to time, I will be able to provide you with finds that I think are absolutely great! Say for instance, designers like Loredana Novotnin,  a young Romanian fashion designer – where the detail in her work is so remarkable; as well beautiful.

Loredana Novotni

Or another designer who takes T – Shirts to another level of extraordinary, that would be Lady Derringer!  New unique designs are added each season!  So if you have a teenager in your home, their right!  T- Shirts are important and Lady Derringer would agree!

Lady Derringer

Then there’s the staple wardrobe piece for men, the hat!  Hat Lovers would love, love  Le Tom!  Very debonaire indeed!

So… be excited, because I am too! All the interactive tools are there!  Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest…….and so on! All there for you to interact and “blis” it to share – plus an inside mall if you would like to buy an item or two!

Le Tom

CityBlis is an interactive, multi-platform social eCommerce website that allows consumers to shop and interact with friends, store owners and other consumers. The site is a combination of personalized webstores and an online mall.  Launched in April 2012, the international platform was developed for small businesses to reach out to new markets around the world through a community based infrastructure.  The current headquarters are in New York with satellite offices in Sweden and Australia.

Architectural Digest Celebrates AD <3 New York Design Center!

27 Jun

This year at the New York Design Center was quite special! Architectural Digest and their Editor in Chief Margaret Russell gave a warm, warm welcome to all interested in design!

To celebrate at the NYDC with what they believe are great finds! I will follow the beautiful Ms. Russell anywhere, for her signature is so clear!

Since being with Architectural Digest; I definitely see a difference in the style and content of the magazine! You can just tell, more celebrities are opened to featuring their homes and the creativity is shown on its pages, with ideas that regular people are truly interested in!

So when arriving at the New York Design Center on Lexington Ave last Thursday, there was such a buzz in the air; I could n’t wait to explore the four floors of showroom bliss!

The showrooms were full of people, all scoring a spot near a bar to receive the signature drink of the night and talk about all the one of a kind of pieces; unique textiles, tapestries and how home furnishings keep on envolving. Beautiful pieces! I placed a few pics below of my favorites!

Even Twitter was involved, where the guests were asked to tweet their favorite #ADLOVESNYDC pick and tweet it right there! Although I made the mistake and tweeted (is that a word) a slipper chair I’d fell in love with, not one of AD’s picks!

It didn’t even matter, because the excitement of the feedback was amazing! Some people were tweeting for the first time in their life, which was actually quite funny…”Is it on my phone? Oh, I have to download the app!” The showroom staffers sure did not reckon on that they would be giving Twitter tutorials on how to be a certified tweeter!!!!!!!

The night was quite enjoyable and I’d got the feedback that others also had a good time too! All rejuvenated with great ideas and finds!

Architectural Digest Home Show 2013 – DIFFA

7 Apr

The Architectural Digest Home Show this year was awesome, but how could it not be! I’d left with such great knowledge on all the new and upcoming products and saw people who I haven’t seen in a year!

It was sunny day and quite a buzz inside! I’d made sure that I got there early and had the right shoes on! It was so crowded, but I’d loved it!

My favorite! Let’s just get right to it! DIFFA Dining by Design – always, always has great ideas for your entertaining! This is a quick sneak peek of the different entertaining tables I liked, see if you can get any ideas! My favorite was getting kisses!   ??

Yeah, the Hershey Kiss wall! Chocolate on a wall? But of course; eating chocolate off a wall is absolutely divine!….Why not! Enjoy! 🙂

Whoopi Goldberg did a collaboration also with DIFFA Dining by Design ; here’s a more inside look what the excitement is all about!

Happy Halloween…. in YOUR Style!

26 Oct

The ordinary Halloween colors, really doesn’t have to be! How about having a centerpiece that matches your home decor! It’s simple, just go to your favorite craft store and buy the items that match your style! Like sequins, faux diamonds, leaves, flowers…whatever you want!

While you’re there get your pumpkins, all sizes and some craft paint. You will need about an hour to paint and style, but the finished product will be wonderful! So have a Happy Halloween with your style in mind!

2012 Kips Bay Decorator Show House

9 Jul

Last month, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House closed on the 14th of June.  The location was different this year, at the Aldyn which is on the West side between 62 and 63rd St on Riverside Bouvelard in New York City. Gorgeous, gorgeous views!

Each year, an Opening Gala cocktail party is held to kick off the event; where the media, interior designers and decorators mingle, awaiting anxiously to see the designs!  I was so excited to be there!

Under a beautiful tent, there was music with the latest hits, cocktails, food and such a great energy in the air!  All in anticipation for the revealing of the 21st and 22nd floors; where two duplex apartments were magically transformed.  So much hard work and effort, all for a wonderful cause.  The designers were tired, however very happy their deadline was met, right down to the very second!   “It is exciting and at the same time the pressure was on.”, Jamie Drake of Drake Design Associates (he designed one of my favorite rooms)http://www.drakedesignassociates.com/

There were many sponsors for the event, remember number painting?  For charity, one of the sponsors – Benjamin Moore Paint allowed guests to select their colors and paint the corresponding color! I took the painting a little too serious though (stay in the lines!!)!    The staff was so wonderful, they even took the time to take a picture, before I headed up to see all the designs.

And oh! Emily and Elizabeth Hazelwood of Urban Vintage Cafe in Brooklyn were there and I didn’t even know it!  I guess we were destined to meet, for I’d meet them three weeks later!  It’s such a small, small, small world!

This event goes back to 1973 when several dedicated women’s committee members of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club launched the Decorator Show House to raise funds for much-needed after school and enrichment programs for New York City children. Over the course of four decades, this project has raised in excess of $17 million and grown into a “must destination” for thousands of design enthusiasts and is recognized for launching interior design trends throughout the world. Today, the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club is one of the most prominent and responsive youth development agencies in New York City and a “flagship” of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

I had a wonderful time, a video is below to show you a few of the rooms!  See the Missoni room, it’s really nice!
