“I feel like whatever I’m supposed to do or get or achieve …

“I feel like whatever I’m supposed to do or get or achieve will happen, and what’s not mine is not mine to have. My grandfather used to tell me when I was a kid, ‘Nobody can take anything away from you that is yours.’ He also used to say, ‘the best is yet to come.’”   Lenny Kravitz
I too believe the same thing!  You know how you are always asked…go paperless!  How about…go fearless!   Be positive….for the best is yet to come!

Fred Segal and Lenny Kravitz Together!

27 Nov

There are so many multifaceted things that Lenny Kravitz does, father, musical artist, actor, composer/songwriter, philanthropist, fashion designer; as well as an interior designer! So this announcement comes as no surprise! Keep reinventing yourself to be and do the things that make you happy!

California retailer Fred Segal has just announced recently that it will launch its first designer collaboration with Kravitz Design next year! First! Named Fred Segal x Kravitz Design, the collection will be designed by Kravitz Design as envisioned by Lenny Kravitz and will include accessories (starting at $100 USD), garments and a $100,000 USD limited-edition motorcycle.

Kravitz launched a creative firm, Kravitz Design Inc., which provides commercial and residential design services as well as specializes in product development and branding. Kravitz Design touts a portfolio of noteworthy ventures, with a range that includes chandeliers for Swarovski Crystal Palace Collection, suites at the SLS Hotel Miami Beach and a two story penthouse recording studio at the Setai Hotel and Residences.

Most recently Kravitz Design Inc. has undertaken the creative vision for the downtown Miami 47-story bay front condominium project, Paramount Bay as well as a collection of ceramic tiles for Lea Ceramiche called Goccia and the re-interpertaion of the Mademoiselle chair for Kartell.  This is my favorite photo of his Parisian creation:

The Butler, Movie Premiere Night with Oprah Winfrey & Forest Whitaker

7 Aug

posterbutler2Movie night is always a great night. However, Movie Premiere night is absolutely awesome. The Butler, directed by Lee Daniels was a great place to be on a Monday night in NYC!

Yes indeed it was a wonderful night at the star-studded red carpet premiere of Director Lee Daniels’ THE BUTLER. On Monday August 5th, 2013 I was able to attend the premiere of the much anticipated Film which star’s Forest Whitaker, and Oprah Winfrey at New York City’s Ziegfeld Theater. The movie’s director and it’s stars were out with much fanfare as the press and fans alike ascended upon the famed theater to finally screen the Oscar buzzing film (here’s a sneak peek of Oprah Winfrey)!

The movie written by Danny Strong, also stars, Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, Vanessa Redgrave, Robin Williams, Mariah Carey, Jane Fonda, John Cusack, Lenny Kravitz, Liev Schreiber, James Marsden, Alan Rickman and a host of other brilliant actors to round off this significant cast inspired by the real life events of Eugene Allen who worked for the United States White House for 34 years as the head butler.

Forest Whitaker stars as Cecil Gaines in the film which follows notable social and political events that transpired during an eight presidential term career at the White House spanning over 34 years. Emotions in the theater ran high during the riveting performances on-screen. At times I felt overwhelming bouts of terror, despair, anger that were quickly cool by amazement and humor that shined through at just the right time with every breath-taking scene. The director and cast did a phenomenal job at creating and crafting a marvelous story of love, strength, hope, and pride woven into “a must see” theatrical gem that is Lee Daniels’ The Butler.

After the film’s credits Director Lee Daniels thanked everyone for coming to the premiere and asked the entire cast to come up and take a bow. What a wonderful treat for all of us we were all able to play paparazzi and snap a few shots of our own. The entire cast was gracious and inviting to the fans and showed us just as much love as we showed them.

I’m still riding high on cloud nine, I couldn’t have asked for a better night! So if you haven’t seen this cinema masterpiece make it a part of your summer plans! You wont be disappointed!

The producers should be applauded, Lee Daniels, Buddy Patrick, Cassian Elwes, Pamela Oas Williams, and Laura Ziskin. The Butler was the last film produced by American film producer Laura Ziskin, who produced hits such as Pretty Woman, As Good As it Gets and Spider Man. The movie will be released in theatres on Friday, August 16, 2013.
